Service Description

The hike begins by traveling upstream on the Urauchi River by boat. You'll trek through the subtropical jungle, visiting the two waterfalls of Mariyudu and Kambire, traversing narrow, almost animal-trail-like paths through the forest, and finally reaching the other side of the island – the longest trail on Iriomote Island. If time and energy permit, you can stop at Mayagusuku Falls along the way. Please note that access is restricted due to the area being a designated natural tourist resource area on Iriomote Island. *We will handle the application process for you. This course is for those with good physical fitness. Suitable for those who exercise regularly or have hiking experience. Please fill in your hiking and sports experience over the past year on the reservation form. Duration: Approximately 10 hours ●Tour Fees Single participant: ¥42,000 Two or more participants: ¥31,000 Students (Student ID required, applicable for groups of two or more): Two or more student participants: ¥28,000 In addition to the above fees, the Urauchi River sightseeing boat fare of ¥3,000 will be purchased at the boarding point on the day of the tour. Furthermore, the application fee of ¥500 for permission to enter the Iriomote Island Specific Natural Tourism Resources will be paid on your behalf; please have this amount ready in cash on the day of the tour. ●Clothing/Items to Bring Headlamp, drinks, lunch, snacks, comfortable clothing that covers skin, comfortable walking shoes, gloves, insect repellent *Shoes and feet will get wet as we will be crossing a river. ●Transportation Area Pick-up: Iriomote Island western area only (Uehara Port area, Funauura to Shirahama) Drop-off: Available throughout the island *If your accommodation changes before and after the tour, depending on the availability of the transport vehicle, we may not be able to transport your luggage to your next accommodation by car. Please consult us in advance. *You must stay on Iriomote Island. ●Felt shoes available for rent: 500 yen *Notice: The Urauchi River sightseeing boat fare will increase from April 1, 2026. Sightseeing boat fare: 3,000 yen → 3,500 yen The boat operates on a minimum of 4 people or based on the fare for 4 people. If there are 3 or fewer participants and no other passengers such as general tourists, the participants will be required to pay the fare for 4 people. Chartering is an additional 20,000 yen to the above rates.
